Two days ago Alex was in Las Vegas to promote Beastly, which is still four months from it's domestic theatrical release, to take in the Cirque Du Soleil show "O" at The Bellagio, and to be honored as ShoWest's Male Star of Tomorrow.
More than one source has informed me that Beastly made a big hit at ShoWest, which is the world's largest trade convention for film exhibitors. This is from After Elton: "CBS Films showed a few pieces at ShoWest, and everyone yawned. Then they showed the upcoming Beastly, with Alex Pettyfer, Neil Patrick Harris, and Vanessa Hudgens, and the crowd of seen-it-all executives went nuts."
In other news, rumors are swirling that the very people who made Shia LaBeouf a movie star have decided to get into the Alex Pettyfer business. Reports say that Alex is in negotiations to star in I Am Number Four, a science fiction extravaganza based on a not-yet-published novel by Oprah's least favorite author James Frey, to be produced by my least favorite director Michael Bay and directed by D.J. Caruso (Disurbia, Eagle Eye). Not sure how I feel about this, especially if it keeps him from fulfilling his destiny of playing Jace in the film version of The Mortal Instruments novels, but if it's good for Alex it's good for me.
Believe it or not, this is an actual character sketch made for the forthcoming Mortal Instruments graphic novels. Who does he remind you of?
Back in the real world, Alex was
And last but not least are these year-old photos by Ram Shergill. Other pictures in the set were in Drama magazine, but these just surfaced here this week. Alex is just one step away from the full monty in one of these and I am just one step away from cardiac arrest. Enjoy!
