Ad Break

I was very surprised by this McDonald's ad from France.  Having worked for McDonald's in the past, for a fairly long time,  I think of the corporation as being essentially evil, and I'm sure that they would never dream of showing anything like this to an American audience.

Thanks to the blog A Reader's Journey for sharing this with me.

Even though it's for McDonald's, it somehow warms my heart. Probably I'm not used to anything like that in the States.

I currently work for mcd's and have done for a long time, and am surprised by your comments about it. I don't think of it as evil - being the biggest in whatever field you're in attracts the majority of both good and bad opinions. And it's not a bad thing to want to stay the biggest either. Do you not celebrate the increases in your own visitor traffic? Does that mean your blog is getting more evil? I'm just saying I was surprised is all. Alex

mrmoovio- I can only speak from my own experience, but I worked for McDonalds in a management position for over six years, even attended "Hamburger U", and while I agree that McDonalds gets a bad rap for some things it doesn't deserve (for instance when people try to tell me they don't use real meat I STILL feel the need to school them. But, I also saw things that made my blood run cold. Its been a long time since then and maybe things have changed and maybe the franchisee I worked for was to blame for a lot of the problems I saw. I'm glad you are happy there and I hope my perceptions are wrong.
