Big Red Shoebox #8

Two Calvin Klein boys. This is a bit of a cheat because neither of these scans are scans I made. I do have these pictures in a shoebox, I promise you, but I also already had them on my hard drive.

First we have a photo from the height of the designer jean craze.  This fellow and his very fine back side was featured in just about every magazine there was. There was even a follow up ad in which he turned over and showed us front side, which I hope I someday to find. It's well worth the price of admission.

Calvin boy #2 is from an ad campaign launched in the mid 1990s and quickly pulled off the market  when people compared it to 1970's smut (which certainly was the intention)  and Klein was accused of promoting kiddy porn.  There was even one hysterical hour of Oprah devoted to it, featuring a blond 15-year-old boy , angry father in tow, who claimed that he was somehow tricked into appearing in this potentionally lucrative international ad campain.  Klein quickly replaced this campaign with another using most of the same models.  Not the blond though. Vera is on the record as being amazed that people think it's the wood paneling and shag carpet that defines pornography and not the exposed genitalia.

Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough

I am well aware that not everyone is as completely smitten with River Delfin Viiperi as I am, but I can't get enough of his long, lean torso, his clear blue eyes, and his sparkling personality.  The folks at F Tape must agree, because they posted these pictures of The Dolphin, along with a short Q&A.  Wait one minute-  one of his favorite movies is The Notebook?

Please Do Not Spam Me

I just spent a good long time removing links to commercial spam from my blog comments. Time I could have been using finding nice pictures to share with you.  If you have a blog or a website that you wish to promote and you are not charging for content, email me and I'll put you in my blog roll. If you don't hear from me it is probably because I'm not good at keeping up with email, so try again.  I'm well aware that 99.9% of my readers do not  engage in this kind of behavior, but I had to say something. Ooooh, it makes me mad.

Bitch! Why You Gots To Get All Up On My Man!

No, but seriously, how is it that just when I gave up on any new news about my beloved Alex Pettyfer and broke down and did a desperation post, something happened the very next day? I mean, I hate when people write and speak in text lingo, but WTF? So what happened ? Well, this picture happened...

...and these pictures happened.

So, apparently Alex went off to PA to film I Am Number Four, and promptly fell in love with his co-star Dianna "Quinn Fabray" Agron.  And instead of saying, "No, dear boy, this can never work, for I am an old lady of 24 and you are a mere child of 20, and as we all know, May/December relationships such as this can only work with same sex couples", what she said was, "Hells yeah, let's do this thing!"  The next thing you know they are spotted swapping spit  on the Tower Of Terror at Disney World, and canoodling on the set of Glee.  But  he's my man, damn it!  Who does she think she is stealing my man?

Oh, wait. I'm obsessive, not delusional.

Still My (Fake) Boyfriend

Goodbye to all that

By now,  everyone who reads my blog regularly will have noticed that I have changed the the layout, the color scheme, and most shockingly,  my banner.  No longer do you see a semi-nude Alex Pettyfer when you open this page. Some have wondered what this means.  It means that I was tired of all that purple.  My old banner was the gift of a reader, Syeuk2002,  who was very supportive and encouraging to me in the first days of this blog, but who I haven't heard from in years.  I miss his elegant graphic, but it was time for a change, even if it means you have to look at my own sad attempts at design.

 Where's Alex?

And in case you were wondering,  make no mistake, Alex Richard Pettyfer is still very much my favorite fantasy boyfriend and future ex-husband.  He has spent the entire summer in Pennsylvania, starring in I Am Number Four, and new material on him has been rare as hen's teeth.  Luckily, fans have cameras, and Alex seems very willing to pose for them.  I love these photos, especially when he's being a big goofball.

More Mr. Regbo

Three people play the character of Nemo in the new film Mr. Nobody, which has already played in Europe and supposedly will be released in the U.S. soon.  Jared Leto is the adult Nemo,  but the critics agree that the best bits of the movie are the scenes with Toby Regbo as the teen Nemo.   I mentioned before that Toby is a bit of a chameleon, and this is a good example. With his hair straightened and dyed, he is almost unrecognizable, though still lovely.

Who is Arpi Kuzmovych?

He's a model, I know that, but that's about all I can tell you about him except that he works with a modeling agency in Barcellona (naturally) and that he looks good wearing nothing but underwear, but you can see that for yourself.

Have You Seen...?

Fiasco Magazine has gone live with its new digital issue and there is a lot of lovely stuff in it, not least of which is a photo essay featuring Ash Stymest and Luke Worrall.

I Told You So!

I wasn't lying when I told you a few days ago that you could expect to see more of 18-year-old Toby Regbo around here. Here he is, earlier this week, snapped by the paparazzi in New York's Central Park,  while filming Someday This Pain Will Be Useful To You.  I have read the Peter Cameron novel and I am of the opinion that Toby is perfect for the role.  If you have seen pictures of Mr. Regbo in Mr. Nobody, playing the teenage version of Jared Leto, you might notice that Toby is a bit of a chameleon. Examples coming soon.

Big Red Shoebox #7

Two things to share with you today.  First off,  if you have ever wondered about my political affiliations, just have a a look at this bumper sticker I found in a drawer.  Keep in mind that I have never affixed a sticker to a bumper.

Next we have a 1999 cover to possibly the most boring gay magazine that ever existed, The Guide.  The cover boy is a fellow who went by the nom de porn of Billy Brandt, and obviously he's the reason I saved it.  He appeared nowhere inside the magazine,  he was just there to lure us suckers in.  No pun intended.

By the  way, if you want to see a strange and completely unnecessary  Wikipedia article, look no further than his entry.  Be happy that if you ever need to know the length of Mr. Brandt's  accoutrement, you'll know exactly where to look.

Basso Profundo

Gabriel Basso, age unknown, plays Laura Linney's surly teenage son on the new Showtime program The Big C. Against all my better judgement I find him... interesting.

Random Cute Actor Of The Day.

Hutch Dano is one of the stars of the goofy DisneyXD show Zeke and Luther.  If you haven't seen it, no need to rush.  He recently starred in a completely formulaic TV movie  called Den Brother, also not crucial viewing.  Nice picture, though.

Random Shirtless Guy Of The Day

According to Models.com,  young Freddie Ryder here was discovered while wearing his school uniform, waiting for an Edinburgh bus.

Oh Hey! Guess What?

It turns that out I like skinny blond boys!  I know!  I was as shocked as you are!  (Truth be told, I don't insist on the blond part. Doesn't hurt, though.)
