Models.com's featured new face today is this guy, Benjamin Mache. You only have to look at this guy to know that he's French. I mean that in the best way. French men are hot. And, by the way, people who think it's clever to hate the French can fuck off, as far as I'm concerned. See more of Benjamin here.

MTV showed the pilot episode of their new show I Just Want My Pants Back (based on a novel) on Sunday night after the VMAs, even though the series doesn't air until January, and I will probably watch it because of this guy, soon to be 25-year-old Peter Vack, who ticks off all my boxes. He's just gorgeous. As for the show itself... meh. I give MTV credit for not doing yet another scripted show set in high school, but this seems like something that should star Winona Ryder and Ethan Hawke, circa 1994. Bad things: The dialog is so self-consciously clever that one is left wondering who really talks like that. It makes the fatal mistake of telling us what we are supposed to think- we are told at least twice in the first two minutes that Peter is funny, long before we have a chance to decide that for ourselves, and despite that, I'm still not sure that it's particularly true. Plus, it doesn't take a crystal ball to see which characters are meant to be together, despite the fact that they are "just friends." Good things: Um, Peter Vack rolling around in his underwear? Well, I'm shallow, and Peter Vack is yummy, and if he's going to be rolling around in his underwear on TV, I want to see it. So sue me.

Unlike Superboy, who, as you all know, was created in a large test tube in the laboratories of Project Cadmus, professional models, despite their seeming perfection, are not. I know! I'm just as surprised as you are. I learned this only because some enterprising soul at Soul Artist Management decided that this year's show cards for New York fashion week would feature the models' current looks alongside pictures from their childhoods. What else have I learned from this?
Sean Harju was a jock. And a nerd. Both at once.
Matt Giesler and Sebastian Sauve were brought up in artsy families. Matt was OK with it. Sebastian, not so much.
Simon Nessman was a willowy young thing, and like most other Canadians his age, had a box full of owls.
Terron Wood was a chub. (Just goes to show you.)
And, of course, River Viiperi has been completely adorable his whole life.

Here I am, scrambling to keep my promise of getting a new blog up today. I always knew that I was going to do a roundup, but I have spent so little time online this week that I wasn't sure if I had enough good, and appropriate, pictures.
I had a rather unfortunate email encounter with a reader earlier this week. I won't go into the details, but suffice to say, it wasn't pretty. Let me say, if you email me and I don't answer you right away, in most cases it does not mean that I am ignoring you. Sometimes you have asked me a question that I don't know the answer to, and I'm trying to find your answer. Sometimes I see your email while I'm at work and I am saving it until I am at home. This can be dangerous because I am likely to forget about it in the meantime. Sometimes I plan to answer but I simply forget. And, yes, sometimes you are trying to get me to promote a dating site or commercial porn site and I really am ignoring you. Whatever the reason, I'm sorry, it's not personal, and if you drop me a second email it will certainly be answered more promptly.
Today's soundtrack is June Christy: Something Cool.

Woke up this morning to find that the blogosphere was abuzz with the news that Steven Soderbergh's upcoming must-see movie, Magic Mike, may be featuring FULL FRONTAL NUDITY! Exciting? Well, don't get too worked up. The big problem with this so-called news is that its source is Ted Casablanca at E! Online, and he may be the most unreliable gossip columnist alive. When you look at the article carefully, there seems to be a lot of speculation and not much in the way of reporting.
Stephen isn't afraid of going there," a source thisclose to the picture tells us when we asked about the possibility of full frontal. "I'm sure he will do it."
Just to analyze that paragraph a bit, Casablanca (real name: Bruce Bibby) is quoting an unnamed source, who is "thisclose", which actually means nothing, and who is merely stating his opinion. Alert the media! Oops, too late, somebody already did. The rest of the article is Casablanca telling us who he thinks will actually be displaying the family jewels. He's guessing Alex.
Interestingly, a more substantial indication that Magic Mike might contain substantial nudity came months ago, in at article at The Vulture Their source, who is thisclose to the picture, was Alex Pettyfer.
As for how much skin he's prepared to reveal, Pettyfer said, "I'm not sure yet." Is he still deciding whether he'd go full-frontal for the role? "It's not so much still deciding," he said. "I will do whatever needs to be done."

I've told you before about an upcoming film, which starts filming in September, called Magic Mike. Just in case you missed it, Magic Mike is a Stephen Soderbergh film based (loosely, I'm sure) on the life experiences of Channing Tatum, particularly the part of his life when he was a teenage stripper. I was already excited about this film, anyone who knows me at all knows why, but some recent casting announcements are even more exciting.
Channing Tatum plays the title role of Mike, an "older" stripper who teaches the new kid the ropes.
Alex Pettyfer plays the new kid, Channing Tatum, or at least a character based on Channing Tatum.
Matthew "I Don't Even Own A Shirt" McConaughey plays the owner of the strip club.
Matt Bomer has been cast in an unknown role, as a stripper I assume, but we know what happens to those who assume, don't we? Matt also appears in In Time with Alex Pettyfer.
Shiloh Fernandez, last seen playing

Is it even possible to not absolutely adore Francisco Lachowski? I'm sure that there are contrarians out there who will try to deny their attraction to him, but they must be lying. Or, possibly, straight.
You can see a lot more of this shoot by Shirley Yu at The Fashionisto.
-Shirley Yu jest.
-I never jest, and don't call me Shirley.

Dear Mr. Feng,
You may not know it, but I am a great fan of your photography. You have a special gift, I think, not only for capturing the essence of your subjects, but also for choosing the right subjects in the first place. Recently you added this picture on your flickr photostream, of a very beautiful young man who you identify as 17-year-old Alex Godart, "Pop Face." My question for you, Mr. Feng, is this: Who is Alex Godart? A Google search reveals several people named Alex Godart, but none of them seem to be this particular Alex Godart. So, again, who is he? An actor? An artist? A musician? A model? And where can I find more?
I eagerly await your reply.

If you happen to be a fan of Alex Pettyfer (and if not, go away, kid, you bother me), you are probably well aware of Alex Pettyfer Source, arguably the best Alex Pettyfer fan site on the planet. If you aren't aware, you should be. It's run by Lian, a girl from The Netherlands, and she goes to great lengths to find news and pictures no one else has. Also, unlike many fan site owners, she seems to not be insane, illogical, or hysterical, which is always a plus.
