Super Model Of The World

You can tell that a model has really hit the big time when the magazine articles stop being about the clothes and start being about the model. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Mr. Francisco Lachowski, photographed by Algis Puldokas-Kim in Essential Homme

Your observation is perfect. Wasn't it once upon a time, say in the 70s and maybe 80s, when the male models basically "had no names"? Photos would credit everybody from the photographer down to the suit-steamer, but ignore the model entirely, as if they truly were just animated manikins. As one impressed by their beauty, this drove me crazy, I wanted to know WHO they were! Thank goodness that has now changed and they are recognized as personalities and celebrities in their own right. I never thought they were to show particular clothes, per se (well, maybe to professional BUYERS, but not individual consumers)--the fashions were usually too crazy and expensive beyond reach. But to demonstrate a certain STYLE or CREATIVITY or FASHION SENSE, that was the ticket. You simply wanted to BE like them in the lifestyles depicted in clothes that could somehow do it for you.
