25 Songs, Part 2

Continuing on with my list of most listened-to songs on iTunes, but first, here's a cute guy to keep you happy.
Who knows what you will find after the jump?

25 Songs, Part 1

Once in a while I like to look at my 25 Most Played Songs list on iTunes and find out what I've been listening to. It is always a surprise to me. So, what the heck, I thought I'd take a break from posting pictures of cute boys and share some music with you.  And then I thought, what the heck,  I can post pictures of cute boys, too.

At the top of my iTunes list is Kate Bush singing The Man With The Child In His Eyes, a song she wrote when she was 16.  Love the song, although it isn't my favorite Kate Bush song, but the video is a bit cheesy, I think.

The amazing blue eyes of British actor Eugene Simon.
More songs and boys after the jump.

More Landon Liboiron

Just a few shots of Landon Liboiron in The Howling: Reborn.  Hmm, he seems to have lost his shirt in these.

You Have My Attention, Now What?

One actor who has my attention at the moment is 20-something Canadian,  Landon Liboiron, formerly of DeGrassi, currently of  Terra Nova. Last night I watched his starring role in a bad horror movie called The Howling Reborn which was only bearable because of his big, blue eyes and the fact that he takes his shirt off for a few moments.  Skinnier than I expected, I must say.

We Need To Talk About Ezra

"When Miller ever-so-subtly pulls in his cheek muscles, battling with an ineffable somethingness, it really is as good as acting gets." -Antonia Quirke, Financial Times

Isn't it nice when the actors you like are extremely good at their jobs?  Ezra Miller's role in We Need To Talk About Ezra, which has already been released in some places that are not America,  is not the kind of role that will make him a teen idol, nor is it the kind of movie that will make him a household name, but it will put him on the map in a big way.  I know that we underestimate the philistinism of Hollywood types at our peril, but I can't imagine anyone not wanting him in their movie.  It's too early to say for sure, because show business tends to eat its young, but I think we will be seeing Ezra a lot in the years to come.

P.S.  Wasn't it nice of the publicists of this movie to release shirtless photos of Ezra?  Much appreciated, publicists!

Robbie The Model Sings! Vera Grows A Uterus So She Can Bear His Children!

This is freaking adorable!  Robbie Wadge sings a song he wrote for a girl called Kristina. OK, so he isn't the best singer in the world, his guitar playing is amateurish, and  the song will never top the charts ("I'm like a fuckin' yo-yo." Really?), but if I were her, I'd forgive him his trespasses right quick. And then when he apologizes for his singing at the end? O, as they say, MG!

Unexpected Paddy

When it rains it pours.  I was walking through the Death Star shopping mall today when I noticed that Paddy Mitchell has returned, after a few months in the wilderness,  to his rightful place on the big poster at the entrance of the Hollister store. Here he is,  modeling their new line of faux fur parkas.  I have some advice for those of you who haven't experienced a real winter. If it's cold enough to wear that coat, it's cold enough to wear a shirt.  In very cold weather, layering is key.

Guilty Pleasures: Grandview U.S.A.

One of the very first commercially recorded VHS tapes I ever purchased was this movie, Grandview U.S.A. (1984), which I had already seen several times in it's short-lived theatrical run. (I think it was also the last movie I ever saw at a drive-in theater.) Pre-recorded VHS tapes were very expensive back in those days, but even though $80 seemed like a lot of money,  I paid it. Why?  Seems pretty obvious: It starred C.Thomas Howell

Much more after the jump.

Tales Of Abandoned Blog Posts: Britannia High

I started writing this post in November 2008,  when Britannia High, a musical drama about a high school for the performing arts, which ran for nine episodes on ITV, was more than half way  through its run.  Here, after the jump, with pictures,  is what I wrote then, and more recent thoughts.

Sleeping Beauty

Paddy Mitchell may not be as prolific as some other models, but  he is always worth the wait.  Cecilie Harris, of the epic Boys By Girls project, has offered a sneak peak of  Paddy in her upcoming book, Closer, and suggests that photos of Paddy in his rugby kit may be in our future.  I'll be marking that down on my list of  reasons to keep on living.

Who You Callin' A Ho?

I have to admit, when I first started watching the Korean drama Boys Over Flowers on Netflix, I was pretty sure that I was going to like any one of the other boys on the show better than Lee Min Ho.  I didn't think he was as good-looking as the other guys on the show, he had a ridiculous perm, and he was clearly much, much too old to be playing a high school student, and generally he was not twinky enough for my tastes.  By the middle of the second episode,  though, I was convinced that he is the hottest thing since kimchi. And I'm not the only one- he's a bona fide superstar in Korea.  I have just started watching him in City Hunter, also on Netflix, and I'm practically swooning every minute.

More pictures after the jump.

Bargain Hunting

Photographer Ian Cole and his publication, Client Magazine, have published the first in a new series called Pin-up Boys, which is exactly what the title would lead you to expect:  page after page of beautifully photographed young men, scantily dressed or tastefully nude. For example, here's one of my favorite guys,  man-child Alex Annand,  demonstrating the proper use of a Speedo, and standing around in the woods in his underwear.  As one does.  Pin-up Boys, Volume 1 is available here in hardcover or magazine formats, and until October 24, 2011, an ebook version is only £1.

Good Genes

Alex Watson may still be best known for who his sister is (Emma Watson, in case you were unaware), but I have a feeling that people would enjoy looking at him no matter who he was related to. In past photos he has come off as rather delicate and, perhaps, slightly effete. Maybe it's the little mustache he's sporting, but in these he seems quite dashing, with a bit of  an Errol Flynn vibe going on.  Swashbuckler Alex!  That's something I'd quite like to see.

Department Of Nostalgia: Nick Heyward and Haircut 100

I was reloading all my iPad data today, because the recent "upgrade" to iOS 5 completely fucked it up, and in my search for the right and proper cover art for Whistle Down the Wind by Nick Heyward (one of the greatest pop songs of the 1980s-in fact, if it weren't for the somewhat obtuse lyrics I'd upgrade it to THE best) when I came upon this picture of Nick.  How cute was he?  Naturally, this lead me down a Haircut 100 rabbit hole from which I still have not extracted myself.  Nick is fifty years old now. Fifty.  Where has my youth gone?

Incidentally, this is the second time I've blogged about Nick Heyward.  The other entry can be found here.

Tales Of Abandoned Blog Posts: Fleeshman!

A few months ago I came across these photos of actor/singer Richard Fleeshman, a long-time crush of mine and the reason why, for a time, I used to regularly download episodes of Coronation Street.  What you see here is a scene from the stage production Ghost: The Musical, in which Richard assumes the Patrick Swayze role.  I wanted to post these along with some other pictures of him, preferably without a girl glued to his torso, but some shiny object must have distracted me and it never happened.

Tales Of Abandoned Blog Posts: Vintage Totty

There must have been something of his on TV that made me think at the time that I should do a post about Jeffrey Hunter, or maybe I wanted to do a little something about Hollywood male ingenues of  the 1950s.  In fact, maybe I still want to do that.  I honestly don't remember what was going through my head, but this is as far as I got-  uploading these two photos showing Mr. Hunter by the pool.

For those of you who don't know,  Jeffrey Hunter had a nice little career going for himself in the '50s, playing  boy next door types who always manage to get their shirts off.  His best film was The Searchers, but his biggest role, was as J.C. himself in Nicholas Ray's King of Kings, which has increased in reputation since then, but in 1961 Hollywood wags referred to it as "I Was A Teenage Jesus."  He was also Captain Christopher Pike of the Starship Enterprise in the original, rejected pilot of Star Trek. He died in 1969, only 42 years old.

Be warned.  This is not exactly the classiest thing I've ever posted on this blog.

I'm not ashamed to admit (well, maybe a little ashamed) that there was a time in my life when I devoted an awful lot of energy into finding the right porn. Not just any porn, mind you, the right porn. I don't believe that my libido has subsided much with age- I still think about sex pretty much all of the time- but I am less devoted to pornography than I used to be. Here's the thing:  I find that the parts of porn I enjoy the most are the parts where the guys have at least some of their clothes on. Don't ask me why.  Maybe because because they seem  more like nice, innocent boys who just happen to to be in a state of semi-undress, and less like hustlers grinding their cocks in your face.  Not that there's anything wrong with that. Really, is there anything less sexy than someone trying hard to act sexy? I'm not saying that I never want to see a penis again, because I most certainly do, but it isn't the end-all be-all.  Luckily,  almost every porn site that offers photo sets will feature a free gallery to pull you in, and I am able to get my fill of half-naked, doe-eyed, eastern European twinks for free! Epic win!

More half-naked, doe-eyed, eastern European twinks after the break.
