Birth Daze

I was shocked - shocked! - when I learned that today was Billy Idol's fifty-seventh birthday.  In my mind he will always be the mostly-naked, godlike creature on the cover of this 1985 issue of Rolling Stone.  This is the sort of thing that makes me long for the '80s. Ah, Nostalgia, what a lying son of a bitch you are.

Los Bikers

Dënver is a band from Chile, and you must see the video they have put together for their song, Los Bikers.  This video has hot male dancers in their underwear, boy on boy action, bondage kink, fine art, a grown man nursing, a really big glass of milk,  Saran Wrap,  blatant religious symbolism.... did I mention the hot male dancers in their underwear? Basically, this video has everything that makes life worth living. It almost seems like a bonus that it's a such a beautiful song.

The Extra-Late Thanksgiving Day Roundup

I which I ask the age-old question:  Why settle for turkey when you can have chicken instead?

Tons more after the break.

On The C&W Tip

Have you ever heard of Hunter Hayes?  He has a few credits at IMDb for small roles he played when he was a youngster,  but mainly he's a country singer.  He's been gigging professionally since he was a kid (he's 20 now) and recently was the opening act on Taylor Swift's tour.  Last month he released his first major label album.  He doesn't really make the kind of music I like,  but oh,  the pretty!

Vera Waxes Nostalgic

When I was very, very young, these are three songs that I remember as my very favorites, and I am still rather fond of them.

Petula Clark made quite a few records that I love, but Downtown will always be my favorite. I mean, who didn't like going downtown?  There were movie shows there!

It seems as if I have always known and loved Nancy Sinatra's recording of These Boots Are Made For Walking.  It wasn't until I was an adult that I saw this performance she did on a TV special. She had some other hits, but this is the one that really sticks with you.

I vividly recall asking my kindergarten teacher if we could sing Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows in lieu of the usual Head, Shoulder, Knees, and Toes. She didn't even acknowledge my request.  I didn't even know then that the singer of this song was Lesley Gore, or that some day, many years later, she would come out as a lesbian in the pages of The Advocate. You go, Ms. Gore!

The Eyes Have It

Eugene Simon is a 19-year-old British actor who has caught my eye as of late.  I remember him from a few roles he played as a kid actor, and in my opinion, he has grown up real good.  You may have seen him in the Nickelodeon series, House of Annubis (probably not) or HBO's Game of Thrones.  He has the prettiest blue eyes. Not surprisingly, he is also signed with a modeling agency.  Nice to have something to fall back on.

The Many Faces Of Gavin Smith

What to make of Gavin Smith, a model on Red Model's roster, who doesn't seem to have a ton of stuff ion his portfolio just yet.  As you can see, he can look like the boy next door, or an alien, an apple-cheeked innocent, or a decadent young dandy.  Of, course, that had less to do with him than it does with lighting,  make-up, and hair styling, and choice of clothes,  but it's still interesting to behold, don't you think?  I'm not sure that Gavin is destined to join the upper echelons of the modeling industry, but he speaks to me. He does speak to me.

Many more photos after the jump.

Boy And Dog

A boy and his dog... what could be sweeter?  (Don't answer that question.) This has to be a Bruce Weber photo, right?

Who Dat?

Can anyone identify this blue-eyed babe in the boater hat? I'd love to know who he is.

Styles That Might Not Catch On

Boy George just called from the year 1984.  He thinks  that this outfit is just a bit too over-the-top.

25 Songs, part 3

Yes, more of my top 25 songs on iTunes, because I know how much you care.

At #11,  Pure by the Lightening Seeds, one of my favorite pure pop songs of all time.  I remember seeing the video on MTV and buying the CD the very next day, despite the fact that I didn't find lead singer  Ian Broudie even a bit sexy. Pure made the Billboard Top 40, but the Lightening Seeds have never set foot in the Hot 100 again. They were much more successful in their native land.

I imagine that if he looked more like this he might have sold more records.  (Actually I'm just posting this picture of actor Matt Brinkler in order to drum up a little traffic.)

Who knows what kind of shizz you will find after the jump?

20-year-old German beauty Olli Greb demonstrates the latest look in fancy undergarments. Well, I reckon he'd look good in anything.

Hell's Record Collection: Is This For Real?

How did this song, Tarzan & Jane by Toy-Box,  end up on my hard drive?   It's awful in a way that makes it almost good, and the video is kind enough to put the cute-ish guy, Copenhagen-born Amir El-Falaki, in a loin cloth, but it seems almost insane that people in the three Scandinavian countries and The Netherlands liked it enough to put it in their top ten charts.  Watch the video, but be warned, it may cause your ears to bleed.

More Of Perfect Paddy

As Roseanne Roseannadanna used to say, "If it's not one thing, it's another."  What most people don't realize is that the one thing and the other thing can both be good things.  No sooner had  I posted a photo the other day of Patrick "Paddy" Mitchell,  posing for Hollister, then more new photos of Paddy came my way. First, our friend April sent us some lovely professional photos of Paddy. Thank you, April!

Then, via Twitter, Paddy posted his very own, very revealing self-portrait-in-the-bathroom-mirror photo.  Oh, my! Not a shy lad, our Paddy.  Thank goodness!

By the way, April, good news.  You'll be glad to hear that Paddy is 18 now. Rejoice!

Who Is Michael Boström?

I can't tell you much about Michael Boström, except that he's six feet and two and a half inches tall, that he's Swedish, that before he was Michael he was Mikael, and that if he didn't already exist I would have tried to invent him. Also, wow!
